THE GEN
“Jabots are as popular as ever and are made up in both small and large effects. The small, flat forms are more suitable for tailored garments. They are usually linen, hand-embroidered, or with inserts of heavy lace. There is no end to the variety of these goods, both in price and style. Some very beautiful styles in collars and jabots are developed in real lace and the finest kind of hand-embroidery. These are suitable for wear with dressy gowns of silk or soft cloths. Original and novel designs may be created from pieces of lace and fine linen.” (‘Latest News from the Fashion Centres’, Needlecraft, Vol. I, New York, September 1909, p. 1)
